CAFE Racer, a half-shell helmet that helps city riders keep their eyes on the road.
One press switches between vent and rain mode. Directions show on the visor, and the rear light signals a turn when the rider turns their head.

Rain mode: sealed.

Riders share crowded lanes with cars, and their eyes keep dropping to a phone.
Riders in Shanghai and Chicago. Pick one to see what they asked for.
In the summer, helmets get very hot. If the design had a vent I could open while riding, it would make long shifts much more comfortable.
Opens for air, shuts for rain.
Riders value portability most and want air flow.
A sealed helmet is too hot in summer, and an open one lets the rain in. The rear housing slides back to vent and pushes in to seal, even with gloves on.
Oversealed
OverexposedThe helmet links to the phone and shows directions, speed and hazard alerts just below the rider’s line of sight, with sound and vibration for the key moments.
Phone glances
Handlebar mountA projector in the visor rim draws the route onto the visor.

Each mode shows only what that moment needs.

One 270° light bar does the work of brake, turn and position lights. A small head turn sets off the turn signal on that side.
No turn indication

BrakeAdaptive day and night settings avoid glare.
Brake. Lights up as the rider slows.
